Happy Halloween! Halloween is the perfect excuse to get dressed up and have some fun. At Smart Restaurants we have come up with some simple tips to throw a great halloween party.
Dress Up
Dressing up for Halloween can be very fun, no matter how old you are. You can choose to dress up as either a Pumpkin, a Witch, a Ghost, a Devil or a Vampire. Dressing up can be so easy, you can either buy a costume from numerous retails such as your local supermarket or fancy dress store. If you haven’t got the time to look for a costume then you can dress up with clothes at home such as a black dress for a witch or a red dress for a devil and simply accessorise yourself with jewellery, make-up and a Halloween hair-do.
Decorate the House
Decorate your house for Halloween with pumpkins, cobwebs, plastic spiders and skeletons. Fill a bucket full of chocolate and sweets for your visitors as well as any trick or treaters that may come knocking at your door. There are lots of fun things that you can make for Halloween as well such as Halloween cupcakes and biscuits. Cook up a Spaghetti Bolognese and pretend that your eating worms.
Make a Halloween Spread
For Halloween you can be very creative with what you cook up and make or bake for Halloween. This can be anything from pumpkin soup to apples made to look like monster mouths. At Smart Restaurants we have come up with a few ideas for you to make a creative Halloween spread for your Halloween party.
Pumpkin Soup
Don’t waste your pumpkin when you scoop out the soft centre. Put it to one side and use it to make something out of it such as pumpkin soup, pumpkin bread or pumpkin cupcakes.
Vegetable Jack-O-Lanterns
Pumpkins aren’t the only things that you can carve at Halloween, why not experiment carving out different vegetables such as different coloured peppers, tomatoes, potatoes and onions.
Spaghetti and Eyeballs
Spaghetti and meatballs can make the perfect main dish for Halloween. Not only is it easy to make, it is the perfect sharing dish. Serve it in a large bowl and let people help themselves. Spaghetti can also be perceived as being like worms which can make a good fun dish for Halloween. You can also make the meatballs look like eyeballs with sliced rings of olives.
Stuffed Peppers
Cut out your peppers into jack-o-lanterns and bake them in the oven to soften them up. In the meantime cook some spaghetti and a tomato sauce. Once the spaghetti has cooked, take the peppers out of the oven and then stuff the peppers with spaghetti and a tomato sauce to make them into the perfect Halloween meal.
Halloween Pizza with Spiders
This is the perfect pizza to make for Halloween and perfect for sharing. Buy a plain Margherita pizza with just a tomato base and cheese on top. Add pepperoni and olives to make the body of the spider and then add thin slices of a pepper and an olive to make the legs.
Spiderweb Pizza
A spider web pizza is very easy to make. Buy a pizza base and add a tomato sauce, then add strips of cheese to form a web. Add the spiders which are made of olives and you will be finished with a spider web pizza.
Apple Monster Mouths
Apple monster mouths are such a simple sweet treat to make. Slice several apples up and get two pieces together. Add a spread of some kind such as peanut butter or chocolate spread and spread this where you would join the two pieces of apple together. Add mini marshmallows or yogurt coated nuts for the teeth and place the other piece of apple on top and this will give you a monster mouth.
Monster Finger Biscuits
Make long length biscuits and with icing add a large nut to the end of the finger shaped biscuit to make the nail.
Spider Chocolate Cupcakes
Spider cupcakes are so easy to make for Halloween. Simply make up chocolate cupcakes with chocolate buttercream on top. Add a large chocolate button for the face of the spider and then add two chocolate chips for the eyes of the spider. Add some black liquorice laces as the spiders legs then sprinkle some coco power or chocolate sprinkles to give your spider some texture.
